Itinerary

Day 1 - St Lucia, KwaZulu Natal
Arrive at Oliver Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg), and catch a morning flight to Richards Bay Airport where you will be welcomed by an Ambula Tours representative and transferred to St Lucia (approx. 1 hours drive). Check into your hotel and unwind after your long journey. In the late afternoon enjoy a 2-hour boat cruise in this World Heritage Site, an 85km estuarine lake filled with over 1300 hippo, several thousand crocodiles and abundant bird species.

Day 2 - Rocktail Bay Lodge in Maputaland, KwaZulu Natal
After a leisurely breakfast we you will be transferred to Rocktail Bay Lodge (approx. 2 hours drive), located on the pristine, unspoilt Maputaland coastline of the Indian Ocean. Relax and unwind.

Day 3 - Rocktail Bay Lodge in Maputaland, KwaZulu Natal
Enjoy the day at leisure or activities on offer at the Lodge such as snorkeling, scuba diving (for own account), Lake Sibaya excursion, bird watching or turtle tracking (in season)

Day 4 - Rocktail Bay Lodge in Maputaland, KwaZulu Natal

Day 5 - Zululand Game Lodge, KwaZulu Natal
Your Ambula Tours representative will collect you after breakfast and take you to your luxury tented game lodge – Mkuze Falls Private Game Lodge (approx. 2 hour transfer) where you can have a delicious lunch followed by an afternoon of game viewing in open safari vehicles for a bush experience in the heart of Zululand. The ‘Big 5’ game viewing is sure to have you talking around the camp fire.

Day 6 - Zululand Game Lodge, KwaZulu Natal
Enjoy an early morning and evening game drive with time in between to relax by the swimming pool or perhaps read a book.

Day 7 - Durban, KwaZulu Natal
It’s an early morning game drive to try and find those elusive animals followed by breakfast and check-out of your game lodge. An Ambula Tours representative will collect you and transfer you (approx. 4-4 ½ hrs) to Zimbali, this will be your longest road journey of your holiday. For the next 3 nights you will stay in a luxury 4 bedroom self-catering house which comes with a 4-seater golf cart to get around the estate with.

Day 8 - Durban, KwaZulu Natal
Enjoy the day at leisure to explore your surroundings and facilities. Perhaps the children would enjoy a horse ride – one of the activities offered at Zimbali.

Day 9 - Durban, KwaZulu Natal
Today is a fun day for the kids, you will be collected by an Ambula Tours representative and taken to Ushaka Marine World - with water slides, aquarium, shops and beach all in one.

Day 10 - Cape Town
After breakfast you will be collected by an Ambula Tours representative and transferred to Durban International Airport for your flight (approx. 2hrs) to the “Mother City”, Cape Town. You will be welcomed in Cape Town by a representative and transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure or enjoy the hotel facilities.

Enjoy the day at leisure to explore more of the many attractions and activities in the area.

Day 12 - Cape Town
Enjoy a day of leisure with many activities on offer in and around Cape Town including aquariums, cruises, planetarium, world of birds, shopping malls such as the V&A Waterfront and so much more. Alternatively, a full day of sightseeing can be arranged - with a city tour of Cape Town, including Table Mountain (weather Permitting), or a tour to the winelands - Paarl area, including a visit to a wine estate for a cellar tour and wine tasting.
