The following itinerary incorporates an exciting variety of the Zulu Kingdom including: the bustling city of Durban, 2 World Heritage Sites (the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg & The Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park), the Battlefields with it’s beautiful landscapes and historical sites, the Elephant Coast where you can see the ‘Big 5’ animals in their natural habitat and Zululand, the traditional heartland of the Zulu nation, the ‘People of Heaven’.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Durban
Ambula Tours representative to welcome guests on arrival at Durban International Airport. Durban City Tour and a visit to uShaka Marine World (Theme Park optional entry for own account).
Overnight: The Protea Hotel in Umhlanga Rocks.
Meals Included: Breakfast

Day 2 - Sani Pass
Early morning pick-up from hotel and transfer to Sani Pass for 4x4 tour up the mountain and into Lesotho (NB Passports required, lunch for own account), including a visit to a Basotho Village.
Overnight: Valemount Guesthouse

Day 3 - Giant's Castle
Depart for Giant’s Castle and a 5km walk to the Bushman Caves and Paintings.
Overnight: Giant's Castly

Day 4 - Battlefields Tour
Start off Second Anglo-Boer War tour. Visit Churchhill’s capture site (Frere), Colenso Battlefield, Ladysmith Museum and Wagon Hill.
Overnight: Bullers Rest

Day 5 - Battlefields Tour
Battles of Spioenkop and Talana Museum and Battlefield
Overnight: Battlefields Country Lodge
Meals Included: Breakfast

Day 6 - Battlefields Tour
Anglo-Zulu War, Isandlwana Battlefield and Museum, Rorke’s Drift Museum and Battle site.
Overnight: Battlefields Country Lodge

Day 7 - Safari
Travel to Hluhluwe Game Reserve. Game viewing in the park, being 96,000 ha and home of the ‘Big 5’ – Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Leopard and Buffalo, plus a host of other birds and animals

Day 8 - Safari
All day game viewing

Day 9 - St Lucia & Shakaland
St Lucia Boat trip and then transfer to Shakaland for an evening cultural show.

Day 10 - Eshowe
Boardwalk at Eshowe, the Fort Nonquai Museum, Ultimatum Tree. Transfer to Durban International Airport.
