Course Description
The Royal Durban Golf Club is spread out over a flat, but interesting piece of ground in the middle of Greyville race course, where fortunes have been won and lost in South Africa’s premier horse race, the Durban July. With few trees and little definition, Royal Durban looks featureless and ordinary at first glance. But it would be a grave mistake to prejudge it as boring and unappealing. Anyone who has played Royal Durban will testify that the touch of a master’s hand is clearly present in the design of the course and the challenge it offers the golfer. Several holes border on the racetrack on the opening nine, so don’t come to Royal with a slice!
