Course Description
East London Golf Club, skilfully fashioned out of dense coastal bush, hills and dunes, just a few meters away from the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, has hosted six South African Opens, which confirms the high esteem in which the course is held. There are breathtaking views of the sea at several points on the course and Nahoon Reef, a world-famous surfing spot, is close to the north-east corner of East Bank, which is the name given by the locals to this spectacular 6 038 meter layout. Many of the holes on the front nine run through indigenous bush and over sand dunes. It has more of a parkland feel on the back nine before returning to the dunes and bush for the finish. There are only three par-3’s, but each of them is a special hole.
