Course Description
Unique to South Africa, the course presents undulating windswept terrain and dune-style landscape. A man-made links course, quite possibly the most difficult course in South Africa. (Carry more balls than usual, and be patient). Every hole has received detailed attention to ensure that there is an overall balance in terms of length, position of hazards and shot values. As a result, the Links presents a stern test in all weather conditions. The Links was recently opened to the public, and was host to the Presidents Cup 2003. Designer Gary Player had this to say about the Fancourt Links: “Links golf is how the game originated and at this new course we'll be taking South Africans back to the roots of golf and letting them play a British Open of their own.”
