De Ostal Country Lodge is nestled in the picturesque Schoemanshoek Valley, 10-minutes from the quaint town of Oudtshoorn and on the main road to the world-famous Cango Caves. It is also within easy reach of other tourist attractions such as the Cango Wildlife Ranch and Cango Ostrich Farm. The lodge consists of a group of typical Karoo farm buildings, beautifully restored and set in lush, tranquil gardens wit spectacular views. The old stables, old wagon house, old farmhouse, share cropper's cottage, old barn and bungalow have been lovingly restored and furnished tastefully with antiques, Cape cottage furniture, Victoriana and heirlooms. The entire complex has an old world ambience with subtle modern touches which ensure a luxurious stay. Hearty farm style breakfasts are served in the spacious, rustic restaurant, which is also decorated in a style similar to the rest of the complex. There is a bar area for pre-dinner relaxing.
